Quantum phase transition in the frustrated Heisenberg antiferromagnet.
Using the J1-J2 model, we present a description of quantum phase transition from Néel ordered to the spin-liquid state based on the modified spin wave theory. The general expression for the gap in the spectrum in the spin-liquid phase is given. PACS Numbers: 75.50.Ee, 75.10.Jm, 75.30.Kz, 75.10.-b Typeset using REVTEX

Using the modified spin-wave theory we calculate static and dynamic spin structure factors in spin-liquid state of the J1-J2 model. The spectrum of excitations in the vector channel is discussed. The developed technique can also be applied to the t − J model describing copper oxide superconductors. PACS numbers: 75.50.Ee, 75.10.Jm, 75.10.-b Typeset using REVTEX 1 Magnetically disordered states ...
متن کاملOrdering by Quantum Fluctuations in a Strongly Frustrated Heisenberg Antiferromagnet
The nature of the ordering of a quantum spin‐1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnet is considered in the presence of the strong lattice frustration associated with the pyrochlore lattice. A field theory indicates that quantum fluctuations lead to a state having dimerization that has long‐range static correlations not in 〈S〉 but rather in 〈S(r)⋅S(r+δ)〉. A sublattice ordering is found that is consistent ...
متن کاملFrustrated honeycomb Heisenberg antiferromagnet: A Schwinger-boson approach.
We analyze the frustrated Heisenberg antiferromagnet defined on a honeycomb lattice using a Schwinger-boson mean-field theory. The spin-wave velocity and the susceptibility are presented as functions of the strength of the frustrating interaction for spin S = 12 , and the dynamic structure factor is calculated for various temperatures and frustrations. For large S, we find an increased Néel sta...
متن کاملHeisenberg Antiferromagnet
The Heisenberg model is described. Some of the interesting behavior of Heisenberg antiferromagnets and its behavior as a function of dimension is described. One dimensional systems have no long range order, two dimensional systems order magnetically only at zero temperature, and three dimensional systems have a non-zero critical temperature. Assembling lower dimensional pieces into ladders and ...
